About the Artist

I taught myself how to draw as a teenager, using tracing paper.  I traced Marvel and DC Comic Book characters; Captain America, Spider Man, Thor, Batman and Robin, etc.  I took one art class in high school my senior year, and decided to major in Art at UC Berkeley.  I graduated in 1986 with a BA in Art.  I decided to teach elementary school and was able to have an after school Art Club for about 3 years.  I incorporated many art and painting projects over my 25 year career as an elementary school teacher.  During my career, as a single parent I found it challenging to keep up with updating my own portfolio.  Art became my hit and miss hobby.  However, in the past year during the pandemic, I have renewed my interest in portrait painting, and have had two commissions, as well as three art sales.  I am now looking forward to making this a career painting portraits of people I admire and those who I know and love! While I enjoy painting a variety of objects, I am most drawn to painting faces, as I love the expression of the eyes the most!  Portraits give a snapshot of time, and I love to show that in my art.

My vision is to paint as many portraits as I can to tell the stories of my time here on this planet Earth!  I envision leaving a legacy of portraits of people; timeless art to be displayed in museums throughout the world!
